Hi guys!

I just have a couple of questions in regards to a Christmas Disney trip (we're crazy, I know!)

My mother, father, sister-in-law, brother, grandmother, and myself are all going to Disney World in 13 days. We're all so excited, but sort of worried now too. We're going to be there for about 6 days (from the evening of the 22nd to the afternoon of the 28th.) We're staying in Fort Wilderness (as there is enough room for all of us in one place) but I have a few questions.

1. What are the best parks to attend on Christmas day? We have dinner reservations for the Hoop-De-Doo Revue that evening, so we're set for meals and such, but we're unsure as to where we should spend the day. Any ideas? I'm sure we're staying away from the MK that day.

2. My sister-in-law is 27 weeks pregnant, and she'll be about 29 weeks by the time we get to Disney World. What sort of things should we expect when she's expecting? Should we get her a wheelchair?

3. What are some must-sees for Christmas while we're there? We've been before around Christmas time but it's been a while, so I was hoping for ideas!

4. We ordered our tickets through Disney's vacation package ordeal, but didn't receive seating assignments. We did this last time we went through them for air, but I don't remember how we ended up with seats. Can anyone give me some insight on this?

PHEW!

Thank you for any and all help you can provide me with!

I hope you all are having a beautiful day. :)

Does anyone know what the EFI firmware for unibody MacBook(Pro)s that Apple just released is all about? From what I read in Software Update and on their website, it's supposed to keep the drive silent upon wake and boot.

I don't particularly have a problem with the little "errr errr" of the head moving back and forth in an attempt to read a disc, so I'm wondering why they thought this was an important update. Was there some more serious symptoms out there of which I am unawares?

Dear Neighbors,

Many of the churches in Davis Sq. come together each year, close to solstice, to celebrate the turn of the year, to name in quiet reflection, the concerns that come to us in the dark.

This annual Davis Sq. Longest Night service will be Monday, 12/14 at 7 PM and will be hosted by the Cambridge Welcoming Ministries @ the College Ave. Methodist Church.

The service will be led by Judy Kohatsu, Tiffany Steinwert, Vic Scalesi, Karl Gustafson, Betty Walker, and me, some of the Davis Sq. clergy.

Elke Jahns will pay her flutes. We will sing some music from Taize, spend some time in silence, read scripture, and pray for the coming of the light. Our service will be Christian in style and content. All are welcome, of course.

We'd love to see you there. Monday, 12/14, 7PM.

Peace to you, neighbors,
Laura Ruth

I got my wish granted this morning. Just enough snow to trigger my sleep-a-little-longer gland because I finally caught up on work last night. This is from just before the sun came up.

Now to the office cave! Blizzards lead people to do a lot of online t-shirt and sock shopping and I've got a mailman to wrestle.

Remember this teensy kitten? She's grown up a bit since then.

More of little Winnie-poo and my baby Jack )

We're still working on Jack's poo problem. He's been getting Greek yogurt a few times a day and I think it's starting to work. His poos don't seem quite as runny as they were. He's back on his regular dry kitten food too.

I got some new foster babies last night. They are two from a litter of four from a feral who had them under some guy's house. He trapped them all and got them to the SPCA. Yay for good people who save kitties! Little Duncan weighs next to nothing and will not stop purring, and Drew is a Nervous Nelly about three times the size of Duncan. Too cute!

Hi All,

Today, I welcome author (and former NY Times columnist) Marek Fuchs on Day 3 of Hartford Books Examiner's Holiday Book Giveaway Extravaganza. Marek was kind enough to donate a signed copy of his true crime thriller, A COLD-BLOODED BUSINESS, which one lucky reader will win. He also shares a humorous essay on what he calls "adult-onset illiteracy." Check it out: http://www.examiner.com/x-3859-Hartford-Books-Examiner~y2009m12d9-Day-3.

You remember my younger self, right? It's been a while. The younger self comics aren't around much because they're so uh, different. They're odd, I write them as I go.

I spent two days working on a comic that I ended up not liking. Maybe I will fix it later and post it sometime, it happens! Expect another update soon. But for now, not wanting to wait any more days to update, I just made a comic about frustration. Poor little self, I don't always treat her well! And I felt so bad about the broken telescope, I kept it until I was in university.

I still like advent calendars, though.

So, I've been havng fun trying to work out which addons are broken and which are just misbehaving due to new the patch.

I was wondering if anyone had found a 'fix' for some of these yet?

FuBar is all sorts of fubared ironically. It doesn't seem to be changing font sizes and window frame sizes and so on.
X-Perl UF is missing the traget frame. Completely. Everything else appears to be in the proper place, but the target frame has evaded my auto attacks. >>

I couldn't find any others [I don't use that many mods], but I figured this would be a good place for people to work out what is what and if there's a fix.

The lawyer who created Satanic child abuse and repressed memory scandals, and some lawyer from Wrentham (i.e. Coakley vs. Brown, i.e. Martha Coakley is now our new senator.)

I'm not surprised, albeit I'm disappointed. I wanted Capuano Vs. Robinson, the former because he's all around a better human being and the latter because he's hilarious.

We'd (idiotically) planned an interguild Onyxia 25 run tonight; we all finally managed to get logged in, get our addon and UI problems ironed out, get grouped up, and go to the instance... and it wouldn't let us in. So we split up and some went after the Citadel (no word how they did) and we went for TOC10... which we just aren't ready for. So we split that up and I went to talk to Archmage Lan'Dalock... who wants me to go to... TOC10. Oh yay.

So our main tank says "let's do the daily heroic" and we say "sure" and we group up and poof, we're on our way to Utgarde Keep... and "Additional instances could not be launched. Please try again later." And the kicker? It tells us we can't try again for 13 minutes. Fwahhhh?? Is this going to be the way this works henceforth? 'Cuz um, guys? That SUCKS.

I shouldn'a had my hopes up for any real action tonight but this was particularly disappointing. Hope others got to actually do something tonight.

I've been dealing with a lot of bullshit from people here who are incapable of functioning like normal human beings.

People: Shut the fuck up, die, and leave me to my art work.

Other people: Thank you for letting me clean your floor and then spill my heart all over it.

Most frequent advice I've gotten -- laugh it off. Laugh at the idiots. And so I do. I laugh, and I hope they get evicted.

Does anyone know of a nearby place to take old clothing for recycling? I don't mean I want to donate wearable clothing to Goodwill. I'm talking about clothing that's no longer usable as clothing (torn, threadbare, etc.) but could be ground up and recycled as insulation, pulp, or something like that. Ideas?
